Frank Davis Jr.

August 11, 1930 — March 19, 2020

Frank Davis, Jr. formerly of Roxton, Lamar Co., Texas and long-time resident of Kaufman, TX passed away peacefully due to natural causes on March 19th, 2020 at the age of 89 years old at his home in Kaufman. Frank is survived by his step-daughter and her husband, Donna and Joe Rogers and their daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Cecil Henderson, Ginger Rogers and Allison and Kasey Kessler. He is also survived his step-son, Michael Baker and his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Nathan Herring and their children, Aiden, Ember and Teagan. Also, his sister-in-law, Sue Davis and her son and daughter Brian Davis and Kimberly Davis Bartley and their families.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Myrna M. Davis; his parents, Frank V. Davis and Olivia Branum Davis; his brother, Jack Davis and his step-grandson
Brandon Baker.
Frank was born in Roxton, Lamar Co., TX. He graduated from Paris High School in 1948. He went on to East Texas State Teachers College and soon left to serve his country. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and became a staff sergeant as an A&E mechanic and then a technical instructor. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He went back to ETSTC and received a BS in agricultural engineering in 1956. That year he began his career with Texas Power & Light becoming an economic developer and supporting and advising small businesses all across the State. He retired in 1992 taking with him many wonderful lifelong friendships. Later that year, he married his sweetheart, Myrna M. Davis and took the city girl to the farm which she learned to love too. His interests included cutting horse training and competition, bird dogs, ranching and watching Gunsmoke. He was blessed to have many wonderful neighbors, especially Jean and Rusty Crow. He had trusted ranch hands, Rhonda Barrilleaux and Juan Ramirez who became devoted friends over the years.
The family could not be more grateful to the careful assistance by Alinea Hospice Care and his loving aides that attended to Frank's every need the last weeks of his life. Thank you Tareva Carter, Ann Rawls, Tonnia Honeycutt, Tammy Steward and Victoria Maestas.
Frank was a special man and a hard worker. He had a keen sense and appreciation for genuine honesty and likewise he never withheld his honest perspective on a given matter. He was loved, respected and will be greatly missed.
Frank was buried next to Myrna on Monday, March 23rd at College Mound Cemetery. The family will memorialize his life when the present restrictions for gathering have been lifted.
