Billy Werner

May 26, 1973 — May 11, 2026

Against all odds, William John Werner was born on May 26, 1973, in Long Island, New York to Peggy Engel Palmer and Donald Werner. Told she would never carry him to term, Billy showed the world he was determined to get here no matter the odds.

In 1992, he married the love of his life, Evie West. Over the next 34 years, they created a life made from a fairytale – full of adventures, a slew of crazy animals, helping others, and loving life.

Their biggest accomplishments are their precious children, Brittany Montanna, age 33 and Dylan John, almost 30. Brittany added to Billy’s joy with the perfect gift of two amazing grandsons, Jayson, age 13 and Jaxson, age 11.

The Werner family was finally completed in October, 2024 when Shelbie Smith, the daughter of their heart, married Dylan.

Billy was larger than life. He was a devoted Christian, father, dedicated Pop, loving son, little brother, uncle and a friend to so many.

Camping, fishing, riding and racing ATVs, taking his wife for adventures on their Spyder were just a few of his favorite things to do in his spare time. He loved working on trucks and cars with his friends and was always willing to jump in to help others in need, no matter the situation or the time.

Billy’s great love of music ran so deep, it was passed down to his children. There wasn’t a party or gathering he was invited to – or crashed – that he didn’t bring his karaoke sound system. It was once even hauled to Florisa to celebrate with a beloved friend. From Hank Williams Sr. and Johnny Cash, all the way to AC/DC, Billy loved music.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, MommaBill West, his sister Pamela Flores and his grandparents on both his mother and father’s side.

But his story continues through Evie, Brittany, Dylan, Shelbie, Jayson, Jaxson. It continues through his parents, Peggy & Bill Palmer, and Don Werner; through his siblings Donnie & Kim Werner, Kim Palmer, Teresa Palmer, Lisa Evers, Stephanie Lindsey, Linnea Jones and Jennifer McLean.

There are so many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who would have been blood relatives that he loved fiercely. His story continues through us all.

Strive to be like Billy.
