Valla Jean Lynch, 87, passed quietly away on Friday, August 29, 2014 in Greenville, Texas. Jean was born on July 16, 1927 to Grady and Iva Morgan in Greenville, Texas. She would meet and later marry Edward T. Lynch on December 21, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. Jean worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as clerical staff for over a dozen years. Edward and Jean moved to Terrell, Texas in 1987 and have been part of its community for almost 27 years. Jean loved to cook and shop. She loved to listen to country and gospel music. But her greatest passion was for her family and her Lord. Jean loved to spend time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved her church family at the First United Methodist Church in Terrell. And she loved her Lord. Her infectious smile, caring heart and open arms will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Iva Morgan; brother Virgil D. Morgan and sister Freda J. Kingsbury. Those left to celebrate her life include Edward T. Lynch, her husband of nearly 68 years; son, Edward M. Lynch and his wife Toni; daughter, Brenda Rumbo and her husband Cecil; granddaughter, Robyn Shoemack and great-grandson, Jessie Shoemack; as well numerous extended family, friends and neighbors. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day, September 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
