Royse Maddox, 89, of Dallas passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Dallas. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, January 26 at the Goggans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hammond officiating. Private family interment will follow. A gathering of friends and family will be 6:00pm until 8:00pm Monday, January 25 at Goggans Funeral Home.
Royse was born November 22, 1926 in Royse City, Texas to Taylor and Viola Maddox. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Afterwards he worked for Alcan Aluminum Corporation as inventory control until his retirement. Royse loved to dance, play dominos and cards, and he could beat everyone that challenged him to a game of checkers.
Those left to cherish his memories are his nieces Rita Hagarman and husband Jon, and Wanda Ray and husband Michael; companion Mary McFadden; great nephew Christopher Hagarman; great niece Katie Goodrich and husband Nick.
Royse was preceded in death by his parents; sister Annabelle White; brother-in-law John White.
