Rose Marie Brookshire, 82, of Terrell, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, and woman of deep faith, Rose lived a life rooted in prayer, service, and unwavering belief in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on June 9, 1942, Rose was known for her spiritual strength and her role as a prayer warrior within her family and community. Her faith was vibrant and vocal, and her prayers brought comfort and strength to many. She was a pillar of support and a source of refuge to those facing life’s hardships, always ready to intercede on their behalf.
Rose is survived by her loving husband, Rex Lamar Brookshire, with whom she shared a life centered on faith and family. She is also survived by her daughter, Heather Marie Bhatti, her son in-law, Frank Clifford Bhatti, and her son, Paul Wesley Brookshire, and her daughter in-law, Shanarae Brookshire; as well as twelve beloved grandchildren: Brock Bhatti, Bryson Bhatti, Brook Bhatti, Tamber Brookshire, Sharonne Gilsdorf, Nathan Brookshire, Lara Raymond, Ashley Brookshire, Skyler Pullin, Stephanie Charles, Wes Brookshire, and Lisa Brookshire. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren, who lovingly called her “GiGi” and “Gram Cracker.”
Rose was preceded in death by her daughter, Faith Brookshire; her son, Hollis Lamar Brookshire; and other loved ones whom she longed to see again. Despite the many physical challenges she faced in life, Rose endured with grace, courage, and an unshakable spirit. Her strength came from her faith, and her life was a testimony to God’s enduring love and faithfulness.
She leaves behind a legacy of prayer, love, and spiritual devotion. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing that she has fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. She now rests in peace, awaiting the day of reunion and resurrection she so deeply believed in.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Mesquite, Texas at 1200 Poplar Drive on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her church, Gateway Apostolic Church, located at 901 Barnes Bridge Rd., Mesquite, TX 75150, in honor of Rose’s lifelong commitment to faith and service.
