Nancy Corley, born January 27, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Terrell, Texas. A beloved educator, devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Nancy’s life was marked by her unwavering faith, warm spirit, and remarkable dedication to the service of others.
Nancy proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas of Health and Sciences in August 1977. Her career was distinguished by her passionate work training paraprofessionals in sign language at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, beginning in December 1974. She found profound joy in teaching, especially when sharing the Lord’s Prayer, a subject close to her heart. Throughout her professional journey, Nancy made a significant impact, including her cherished role in the puppet ministry at her church and her participation in sign language ministry. Among her proudest accomplishments was introducing Russian children to puppetry, culminating in their heartfelt performance of “The Lost Lamb,” thereby sharing the message of her Sunday school class for elementary ages.
Nancy’s personality shone brightly through her great smile and delightful sense of humor. She loved the Lord, her family, and life itself in that order. Her generous spirit led her to participate in numerous missionary trips later in life, touching lives across Africa, Russia, and Jamaica. Beyond her faith and work, Nancy had a rich life of hobbies and interests. She delighted in crafts, ceramics, plastic canvas, needlepoint, sewing—including the meticulous creation of baby quilts—making puppets, word searches, and engaging in spirited games of Scrabble with her sister and game nights with close friends.
Her family fondly recalls treasured memories such as Kent’s waterpark adventures with cousin Jimmy and Aunt Stella, as well as Kim’s memorable trip to Massachusetts to see Plymouth Rock. Nancy's loving legacy is carried forward by her children Kimberly Corley, Kirk Corley and his wife Laura Corley, and Kent Corley. She was also a proud grandmother to Rose Corley and Jonah Miller, the latter with his wife Candace, and a great-grandmother to David Joseph Miller. With a tender smile, Kirk placed their newborn daughter into Nancy’s arms for the first time—marking the beautiful beginning of her journey as a grandmother to her first granddaughter. These cherished family members continue to honor the values and love she instilled in their lives.
Nancy was preceded in death by her dear husband, R.L. Corley, who passed away on April 5, 2011.
A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on April 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Goggans Funeral Home, located at 1911 N Frances St., Terrell, TX 75160. Family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and dedication are invited to gather and reflect on the remarkable contributions she made to her community and the enduring warmth she offered to all.
In remembering Nancy Corley, we honor a woman whose faith sustained her, whose smile uplifted many, and whose legacy of love, teaching, and service will be cherished for generations to come.
