Mary Frances Santos

Celebrating the life and love of Antonio and Mary Escobar Santos.  Tony and Mary met and fell in love at the age of 17.  They married July 5, 1953. Tony worked at KDFW Dallas for 50+ years as a technician and cameraman. Mary was a banker and eventually stayed home to raise her three children, Daniel, Rebecca and Patrick. They also gained two loving daughters-in-law, Rita and Vicky. Mary and Tony lived their lives to the fullest.  They enjoyed playing tennis, golf, bowling and loved to travel for enjoyment, and just visiting their families.  The two of them shared a remarkable journey of love and companionship, for an incredible 68 years.
As their children grew (and married), they were blessed with eight grandchildren: Daniel, Emily, Jacob, Jason, Stefani, Gabriela, Mason and Sydney. Once again with eight great-grandchildren: Mia, Ella, Aidan, Jesse, Olivia, Evan, Alyssa & Devin.
During their retirement years, they enjoyed going to the casino, making stain glass pieces, and visiting with family. Their home was a loving and welcoming place that everyone loved to visit. Granny loved to cook and made sure family always had a meal to enjoy.  Her most requested meals were her famous sour cream chicken enchiladas, menudo, chicharonronnes and migas. You could usually catch Grandpa listening to his Freddy Fender tunes while out tinkering in his shop.  Grandpa loved to joke around and no one had immunity from being called a “geek or Marroon”. As those words were a loving sentiment to him.
In the later chapter of their love story their bond was not only resilient but enriched with the wisdom and understanding that comes with shared experiences. Tony always checked on Mary to ensure she was well. As she did the same, making sure he was taken care of and ate his meals.
Together, they created a legacy of enduring love that will forever be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known them.
Tony and Mary will be interred together Saturday, February 3rd at 1:00 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlettt,TX
