Maria Lopez

Maria Jesus Lopez,90 passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Kaufman, Texas. Maria was born to Rito and Eulogia Vasquez in Guanajuarto, Mexico on March 4, 1923. She met and later married Juan Lopez Hurtado. Maria spent her many years making a warm and loving home for her husband and children. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maria also saw the birth of her two great-great-grandchildren. An ever-present spirit of love and home, she will truly be missed. Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Rito and Eulogia; her husband, Juan; as well as her three brothers and two sisters. Those left to celebrate her life include her daughters, Raquel Garnica and her husband Andreas, Emma Garcia, Rebecca Martin and her husband Rogelio, Graciela Cervantes and her husband Marco and Delia Gomez and her husband Juan; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 12,2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary will be said for Maria at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held the following day, Friday, December 13, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell, Texas.
