Leon Nash

Leon Nash, 88, passed away on August 13, 2026 in Terrell, Texas. He was the fifth of ten children born on January 20, 1938 in Beggs, Oklahoma to Elijah Nash, Sr. and Odessa Thomas Nash.

Both parents, two brothers: Raymond Nash, Elijah Nash Jr., and five sisters: Olivia Houston, Rosa Hodge, Mary Johnson, Erana House, and Charlotte Chatman, preceded him in death. His wife, Bessie Maxwell Nash also preceded him in death.

In 1957, Leon graduated from L’Overture High School in Slick, Oklahoma. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he owned several small businesses over a number of years. Leon later moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1984 and then to Terrell, Texas in 2015.

Leon was a member of the West End Church of Christ in Terrell, Texas in his final years. Previously, he was an active member of several congregations across Oklahoma.

Leon leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Maxine (Kenneth) Washington of Oklahoma City, several step-children, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
