Kathy Russell

Kathy Russell, 49, resident of Wills Point, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at her home. Kathy was born on August 9, 1960 in Dallas, the daughter of William Hayden and Brenda Faye (Buss) Selzer. Kathy graduated from WW Samuel High School in Dallas. She was married to Roger Learned. She worked for Power Lab, Inc. as an Administrative Assistant for twenty one years. She was an active member of College Mound United Methodist Church, served on many various committees, including being a board member of the Lone Star Credit Union, a board member of the Terrell Chamber of Commerce, involved with the Relay for life for many years, and a volunteer for the Dallas Historical Society. Her family members who are cherishing the memories of her life are her husband; her parents; son, Michael Wayne Russell and his wife Misty of West Tawakoni; step son, Roger Bailey Learned of Dallas; step daughter, Bobbie Martinez and her husband Gene of Allen; three sisters, Karen Kahlig and her husband Chad of Rogers, Kristen Comnick of McKinney, and Ella Anderson of Kaufman; one brother, Robert Selzer and his wife Tracey of Wills Point; two grandsons, Andrew Petrea and Skyler Learned; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends. Her funeral service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home (www.goggansfh.com), will be Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm at College Mound United Methodist Church, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating. Her burial will follow the service at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Kathys memory to the American Cancer Society. Her visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 in the College Mound United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
