Henry Chitty

Curtis Chitty passed away February 7, 2010. He was born on May 17, 1918 in Kaufman County, the son of L. C. Lum Chitty and Inez Strait Chitty. He attended Terrell Public Schools, served in the US Army during World War II, and worked for Ford Motor Company until his retirement. He married Estelle Harvey on May 13, 1944, and to this union God blessed them with two children, Harvey and Mike. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Estelle Chitty on December 21, 2008; his parents, Lum and Inez Chitty; and a brother, John Clyde Chitty. Curtis family that is cherishing his life and dear memories are as follows: his sons, Harvey Chitty and his wife Jeannine and Mike Chitty and his wife Elise; grandchildren, John, Mark, Matthew, Lauren, Katie, and Michael; great grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, and Brandon; sisters-in-law, Jo Sullivan and Laeuna Howell; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. His funeral service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home, will be at 10:00 am Wednesday February 10, at the College Mound United Methodist Church located on FM 429 South, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating. His burial will follow the service in the College Mound Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in memory of Curtis may be made to the College Mound Cemetery Association at PO Box 105, Terrell Texas 75160, or to the charity of your choice. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Goggans Funeral Home.
