Helen Johnson

Helen Marie Johnson, of Terrell, passed away on April 5, 2010 at her home. She was born on April 7, 1935 in Climax, the daughter of Elva Augusta and Mallie (Nall) Jackson. Helen married Dwight D. Johnson on September 30, 1950 in McKinney, Texas and they were married for 59 years. Helen was a devoted wife and loving mother who dearly cared for her family. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Vernon H. Jackson, Foy E. Jackson, and Glen T. Jackson. Left to cherish her memory are her husband, her two sons Danny Johnson and his wife Erin of Poetry and Rickie Johnson of Atlanta; her daughter, Linda Dailey of Josephine; two sisters, Ina Pearl Pirtle of Red Oak and Evelyn Stewart and her husband Leroy of Midland; ten grandchildren, Kelly, Richard, Naomi, Brian, Cortni, Jacob, Beth, Daniel, Nathan, and Billy; sixteen great grandchildren, Nicole, Addison, Blake, Brook, Brynn, Scottie, Alexander, Micah, Rachelle, Emma, Grayson, Selah, Cedric, Brandon, Dustin, and Dillon. Her graveside service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home, will be Saturday April 10, 2010, at10:00 am at Campground Cemetery in Poetry, with her family members officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
