With profound sadness and loving memory, we share the passing of Gerald A Cox, who peacefully left this world on August 20, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. Born on July 3, 1944, in Plainview, Texas, Gerald’s life was a tapestry woven with devotion, quiet strength, and steadfast love for God's family and friends.

Gerald’s journey began amidst the gentle warmth of the Texas plains, nurtured by his parents, Lewis and Fay Cox, whose spirits continue to watch over him. The values and kindness he inherited from them would guide Gerald through every step of his life. In time, he built a home centered around God's love and laughter, envisioning each day as a chance to support and uplift those closest to him. His Grandad Bradford Cox influenced his love and commitment toward God.

He found his true-life partner in Carol, his beloved wife, whose unwavering companionship was a cornerstone of Gerald’s happiness. Together, they created a compassionate family that grew ever stronger with each new chapter. Gerald’s pride and affection for his grandson Dillon Johnson was boundless; their special bond brought immense joy throughout his life. He also held dear the presence of his siblings—his brother Gary Cox and wife Joanne and brother Jackie Cox and wife Nancy shared many memories and milestones throughout life's ups and downs.

Gerald’s heart ached for those who preceded him in passing: his parents, Lewis and Fay, his cherished daughter Julia Cox Chambliss, and several extended family members. He cherished his nephews and families honoring the ties only family can foster.

Those privileged to know Gerald will remember his gentle wisdom and quiet humor, the reassuring calm he brought to every room, and the honesty with which he lived his days.

As his family mourns this tremendous loss, they are also comforted by the knowledge that Gerald’s spirit endures—in the laughter between siblings, the love between spouses, and the hopes he kindled in new generations.
