Geary L. Hammond, 66, of Terrell passed way December 31, 2015 in Kaufman. A memorial service with military honors is scheduled for 10:15am Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Dallas Forth Worth National Cemetery with Rev. David Hammond officiating.
Geary was born May 7, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Gaston Hammond and Willie Mae Cooley Hammond. He married Brenda Ann Harrison November 21, 1986 in Canton, Texas. Geary proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Geary held many different jobs from a welder, tool and die machinist, a fireman, restaurant owner and finally an electronic circuit board technician. Family also remembers his passion for being a bull rider.
Geary is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Brenda Hammond of Terrell; daughters Amber Worford and husband Kurt of Whitewright, TX, and Holly Mitchusson and husband Jim of Colorado Springs, CO; sons Michael Mitchell and wife Nancy of Rawlings, NC and Quincy Mitchell and wife Lorena of Round Rock, TX; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren;; brothers Robert Hammond and wife Ann of Tyler; Jerry Hammond of Hawkins, David Hammond and wife Cynthia of Quinlan; sister Judy Sandifer and husband Carroll Wayne of Mineola; numerous nieces and nephews.
