Born on December 20, 1956, in Bellville, Texas, Gean’s story began in the heart of a close-knit family and grew into a life marked by unwavering love, commitment, and selfless service to others.

Gean’s early years were shaped by the warmth and guidance of his parents, Mary and George Clark Sr., in his beloved hometown. As a proud graduate of Bellville High School, he carried with him not only an education but also a deep-rooted sense of community and purpose that would guide him throughout his life.

Throughout his life, Gean wore many hats, each one with quiet dignity and steadfast dedication. As a kitchen manager, his hands prepared meals that nourished both body and soul, but it was in his role as a youth minister where his heart truly shined. His love for working with children was evident to all who knew him. He found joy and meaning in helping young people find their path, nurturing them with patience, understanding, and faith. To Gean, every child was a light and every moment an opportunity to encourage, celebrate, and uplift others.

He was a man whose passions brightened ordinary days. His love for cooking was legendary within the family, with every meal seasoned with love, cherished memories, and laughter. He also found serenity and pride in his garden, coaxing beauty and sustenance from the earth. Yet it was the time spent with his beloved grandchildren that filled him with the deepest joy. Their smiles, stories, achievements, and simple presence were among his greatest treasures.

Gean’s happiest moments were not his own, but those of his family. He was never prouder than when witnessing the milestones of those he loved—awards earned, graduations achieved, performances given, and dreams pursued. His legacy is a tapestry of encouragement, devotion, and boundless affection woven across generations.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Ginger Clark, who stood by his side through every season of life; his sister, Tjuana Dailey; his daughters, Shawneea Malone (Sherwin Malone), Lottie Young, Kizandra Young, Savannah Bowie (Sekou Bowie), and Mikala Simmons (Jeremy Simmons); his son, Samuel Young; his beloved grandchildren, Chajadeci White, Kiandre Young, Jacob Young, Clinton Young, Jaylynn Young, Kevin Runnerls, Isiah Young, Davian Young, Summer Simmons, James Simmons, Sadie Simmons, Javarien Clark, Toure Bowie, Janiya Bowie, Issabella Ramirez, and Amiya Smith; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Their lives, marked by his enduring love, grace, and guidance, will carry forward his memory for generations to come.

Gean was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary Clark and George Clark Sr.; his brother, George Clark Jr.; and his dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Zane Parrish. Though now reunited in eternal peace, the bonds they forged remain unbroken and everlasting.

We gather now in sorrow and in gratitude—to mourn, remember, and celebrate a life beautifully lived. Service details will be shared with the family and friends whose lives were touched by Gean’s kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith.
