Elizabeth Glen Burnett

Elizabeth Glen Burnett, age 69, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on December 1, 2023.

Elizabeth was born on May 11, 1954 to Fred and Jean Reeve in El Dara, Illinois. As a child, Elizabeth enjoyed playing with her siblings on their family farm. After graduating high school, she soon moved to Texas for work.

In December of 1981, Elizabeth met the love of her life, James, at a friend's belated Thanksgiving party. They were married soon after on February 20, 1982. Elizabeth and James made their home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and went on to have two children, Alyson and Travis.

Elizabeth worked as an administrative assistant for many years. In her free time she enjoyed reading mystery novels, knitting, sewing, and tending to her lilac bush. She could often be found spending time with family, and never turned down an opportunity to play games with friends.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 41 years, James Burnett; son, Travis Burnett and his wife, Ashley; daughter, Alyson McLemee; two grandchildren, Ellyot and Artemis; brother, Stewart Reeve and his wife, Leila; sister, Margaret Stephens; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jean Reeve.

The family would like to thank the staff of Country View Nursing Home and Three Oaks Hospice for their attentive care during her final months.

A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held in Kaufman, Texas at Kaufman County Christian Center on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
