The celebration of life service for Coleen Annette Kilmer, 74, of Terrell will be held at a later scheduled date at Goggans Funeral home. Mrs. Kilmer passed away at home on May 9, 2025 with her husband at her side.
Coleen Annette Kilmer was born on September 2, 1950 in Dallas, Texas to Dora Opalene Austin and Garvis Lyle Vandeventer. She married Bobby Joseph Kilmer in Terrell on May 12, 1967. Coleen was a volunteer at Terrell Share Center. She loved to cook for her family and sew in her free time, but she didn’t do curtains. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to properly make cornbread in a cast iron skillet and shopping on sunny afternoon for more cookbooks. Known lovingly as ‘Mamaw’ and ‘Meemaw,’ Coleen had plenty of grand and great- grandchildren. In her younger years, Coleen sang to her children at times, and both swear to this day she sounded like Patsy Cline. Even though she has moved on, she will live on in the hearts of those who called her wife, mom, and Mamaw.
Coleen is survived by her husband Bobby, children Katrina Freeman and Brian Kilmer, grandchildren Richard Freeman, Justin, Cody, and Austin Freeman, Savanna, Cole, Jessica, Brianna, and Patrick Kilmer, great-grandchildren Richard Freeman Jr., Kalob Wade, Shawn, Whiatte, Sawyer, Nathan, Logan, and Jerry Freeman, Braleigh and Kynleigh Chaney and Joseph Drake V, and her brothers, Dwight and Michael McKee.
Coleen is preceded in death by her parents Dora and Garvis.
We love you, Mamaw.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Terrell Share Center.
