Charles Edwin Mallett, 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in Grand Saline, Texas. Charles was born on September 8, 1941 to Ward and Catherine Mallett in Terrell, Texas. Charles attended and graduated from Terrell High School in 1960. He would then obtain an Associates Degree from Trinity Valley Community College. Charles went on to service his country with distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. Charles would meet Sandra Jean Liston in high school and would later marry his high school sweetheart in April, 1964. To this union were born four children;Rhonda, Melissa, Roger and Ryan. Charles would work for Terrell Equipment Company for almost thirty years before retiring in 1997. He would rise to the position of Vice President and General Manager during his tenure there. Charles also served his community as a Kaufman County Sheriffs Reserve Officer for over sixteen years Charles was known for his quick smile, open heart and wicked sense of humor. He was known by many and loved by all who knew him. His is a heart and smile that will truly be missed. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Ward and Catherine; his beloved wife, Sandra Jean; and one brother, Ward Sonny Mallett. Those left to celebrate his life include his daughters, Rhonda Mallett McGreger and Melissa Pierce and her husband Frankie; sons,Roger Mallett and his wife Shannon, Ryan Mallett and his wife LaRhonda; grandchildren, Jacob Lobb, Kathryn Lobb, Trent Cahill, Vincent Pierce, Charles Mallett and Ashley Mallett; brother, Billy Mallett and his wife Gwen; sister-in-law, Susan Mallette; as well as numerous extended family members, friends and neighbors. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. A funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at College Mound Cemetery, Terrell Texas.
