Billy Fred Norman, born on November 9, 1944, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Kaufman, Texas, on February 12, 2026. He was 81 years old.
Bill dedicated over 30 years of his life to the electronics industry, where he honed his skills in assembly, installation, and maintenance of electronic systems. His career was marked by his tenure at Continental Electronics, where he returned in March 2001 after a brief retirement, ultimately retiring for the final time in April 2004.
A proud veteran, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1963 and served three years, earning the rank of Specialist E-5 for his exemplary performance as recognized by his platoon leader.
Bill went on to marry Diann Morse in 1966. Together they had two children, twins, Keith and Karen. During 34 wonderful years of marriage, Bill and Diann lovingly raised their children and were involved in the children’s extra-curricular activities. Bill and Diann spent countless hours being with and loving their grandchildren. Bill became a widower when Diann passed away in 2001.
Bill’s journey was not just defined by his professional accomplishments; it was also rich with family and cherished memories. He enjoyed traveling after his retirement, especially visiting his 13 great-grandchildren. He and his beloved second wife, Barbara Jo Norman, whom he married on November 8, 2003, created lasting memories together, from spending time at the beach to visiting casinos. They first moved to Seymour, Texas, after his retirement but returned to the Kaufman area in 2007. Together, they embraced life, embarking on adventures following Barbara's retirement in 2019.
Bill’s educational background included attending Oak Cliff schools, completing his high school education at South Oak Cliff, and earning an associate degree in Arts and Science from East Field College, where he was honored with induction into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Fraternity in 1974.
He was involved in his community, serving on the Scurry-Rosser ISD school board for four years, where he also held the position of president of the Booster Club, demonstrating his commitment to education and youth development.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Jo Norman; his children, Karen Kolacek and her husband Ronnie, Keith Norman and his wife Tammie, and Candy McAdams and her husband Donald; his sister, Vickie Lamoreaux and his grandchildren, Amanda Parker and her husband Nathan, Melanie Tennison, Justin Tennison, Tana Dowd and her husband Jacob, Kara Jones and her husband Paul, and Allen McAdams and his wife Ella, as well as his grandson, Austin McAdams; and his great-grandchildren, Keigan Barron, Aiden Barron, Adalynn Parker, Ally Parker, Isabel Parker, Jersey Tennison, Hudsyn Tennison, Jacobi Tennison, Cole Dowd, Maci Dowd, Zoei Dowd, Sarah McAdams, and George McAdams.
