Alice Zajic

Margaret Zajic, 76, resident of Terrell, passed away on December 30, 2009 in the morning hours. Margaret was born December 16, 1933 in Ables Springs, the daughter of Lonnie Lee Lightfoot, Sr. and Lora Dee (Richardson) Lightfoot. She married Joseph Adolph Zajic on May 19, 1951 in Terrell. Margaret had worked for Terrell State Hospital for 34 years in various capacities and at the time of her retirement she was Director of Nurses. She is survived by her two children, Larry Zajic and his wife Cindy of Terrell and Sharon Jeane Zajic and her husband William Paul Scantling of Terrell; sister Sybil Beavers and her husband Jim of Quinlan; three grandchildren, Lara Reed and her husband Russell of Combine, Amy West and her husband Jimmy of Crandall, and Tara Gibson and her husband David, both serving in the US Air Force in Okinawa, Japan; seven great grandchildren, Zachary Reed, Jakeb Reed, Rylie Reed, Ashlyn Gibson, Dylan Gibson, Maddux West, and Easton West. She is preceded in her death by her husband; her parents; one brother, Lonnie Lee Lightfoot, Jr.; and one grandchild, Allison Miller. Her funeral service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home (www.goggansfh.com), will be Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplin Stien officiating. Her burial will follow the service at College Mound Cemetery in Terrell. Visitation with the family will be Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
